Art Therapy Expression: Water Element
Painting Workshop
Let’s journey together and discover, express, and create art on the theme of The Water Element.
How does water inspire us?
How does water teach us and inform us with her intelligence? Gentle and cleansing like the summer rain, strong and powerful like the rivers after the monsoon or the melting of winter snow?
Which kinds of water, bodies of water, expressions of water do we love the most? What do we feel drawn the most to at this moment? What do they represent for us?
How many blues can we stretch our paint blending to? Blue is the longest wavelength of the color spectrum, cooling and healing in its frequency.
Water is a carrier of memory, the heritage of ancestors, flow and purity, trust or fear. Our Swadhisthana chakra is the center of creativity, connection, community, and sexuality.
Considering these themes we will create something beautiful to remind and inspire us of our sacred waters, inner and outer.
You will be able to take away a small canvas for your altar and home.
All materials will be provided.
About your facilitator:
Catriona is passionate and in love with creating safe sacred spaces to explore self-expression. She is a trauma-informed, multi-disciplinary holistic therapist and experienced woman’s circle facilitator.
She has been playing with art creativity all her life (like most of us) drawing and painting since being a kid. It faded away for a few years as a young adult trying to put on a serious face in a grey world, but that luckily soon needed as she began traveling in India in 2004 and again picked up pen, colors and papers to capture moments of her trip.
She’s been living in Thailand since 2005 with Koh Phangan as her base since 2014. She lives here with her now 11-year-old daughter and their 2 young dogs.
A life of many faces, art has been a constant companion, a way to process feelings and emotions and express inner visions.
